John, Your front yard has 915 square feet of grass - the largest portion is between the street and sidewalk.Â* Your back yard has 874 square feet.Â* That is a total of .041 acres and it takes you two days to mow it?Â* I do 10X that much in about 90 minutes with a 22" wide push mower.Â* You are a lazy guy! |

It closed about 4 years ago but they had referbished washers, dryers, refrigerators, freezers, ovens (gas or electric) and a goodly stock of parts. Great prices, good haul away fees and if it turned out refurbishable, you got a store credit for haul away plus 10$. They had other stuff too like microwaves and built in ovens plus window AC units. |

"What is Pavlov's dog theory? Russian physiologist Ivan Pavlov (1902) started from the idea that there are some things that a dog does not need to learn. For example, dogs don't learn to salivate whenever they see food. This reflex is 'hard-wired' into the dog. In behaviorist terms, food is an unconditioned stimulus and salivation is an unconditioned response..." -- Best Greg |

Nothing wrong with that! I got some handicap grab bars off Freecycle yesterday. John B's father died about 6 years ago and he slowly cleared his house (relatives lived there for small rent equal to cost of Mortgage/Taxes/Insurance/+ 100$ for repairs). It didn't generate income but it let his aunt have a good place to live within her social security income. John B lives modestly but in a nice house, built about 1925. Fascenating archetecture. Several modifications over the years but it has unique nooks and crannies everywhere. Parts seem pretty modern but leaves an overall impression of maybe late 40's? I loved the kitchen! A very old-time middle-blue-green cabinets. Seems would make it dark but actually, the room can carry it off. |

They had other stuff too like > microwaves and built in ovens plus window AC units. > dsi1's post went right over your head, Carol. He can't go to 'Airport Appliance' in St. Louis. John keeps mentioning businesses in "Da Lou" which are absolutely meaningless here. dsi1 has a point - for a rental, refurbished should suffice. As long as the appliances work. I've lived in a number of rental properties in my life. Not a single one came with brand new appliances. That's a pipe dream. As long as they work, that's all that matters. I've bought reburbished 'scratch & dent' appliances. I was in my 20's. They worked just fine, no negative comments about the ones I bought. Maybe paid $120 for the 20 year old washing machine and about $90 for a not matching (who cares?) electric dryer. Nothing to brag about. Kuthe loves to brag about nothing. I didn't tell all my friends "Go to this place!" It simply didn't come up in conversation. Jill |

Often reconditioned is a great buy, 20 years ago we bought a used reconditioned fridge for our basement for $100, still working perfectly. The appliance store owner told us that lots of people have a fridge that only needs a minor tune up but they insist on brand new. The appliance store mechanics know which used appliances are better than new and only need minor adjustments. >>>> I got a LOT of shit done! :-) >>> "Try harder..." >>> >>> >>> -- >>> Best >>> Greg >> Chooser NOT to afford new! $175 + $45 for delivery, set up, haul away is JUST FINE! >> >> John Kuthe, RN, BSN.. >> > >Sure.* For someone else's junk.* Did it come with a worthless warranty, too? |

So buying >a secondhand recon (already failed and rejected by its >previous owner) is just the latest way of flushing money >down the Kuthe drain. > > Janet UK Tenants need to be sent to a laundramat... washers fail due to abuse, typically overloading... no tenant will treat appliances like their own. And there is nothing wrong with buying used reconditioned appliances... they are typically better than new, appliance stores take in used appliances all day every day and they know which to recondition and which to scrap. Very often people buy new appliances because they have to nave the latest to show off, often their old applaince is superior to new, just needs a very minor tuneup... may only need a new belt... $30 vs $1,500. |

It is always a good idea to check your air pressure and inflate tires to the recommended pressure. Something to thing about.... and maybe I should patent this idea. Air leaks over time. Rubber is a pretty good sealant but the gas molecules still manage to seep through the material, so the pressure eventually drops. The reason for inflating tires with nitrogen is that the molecules are larger and less likely to work their way through the those tiny gaps. Now..... If there is truth to that and you pump regular air into the tires, and the other gases leak out, the gas left in the tires should have a higher percentage of nitrogen. Nitrogen makes up 78% of our atmosphere. Every time you add air you are loading air that it mostly nitrogen into an already nitrogen enriched vessel. Eventually, it is going to be almost 100% nitrogen. Personally, I figure that the simple practice of checking tire pressure and keeping them at the proper inflation will give you the same performance and mileage benefits that you might expect from nitrogen, but without the hassle and expense of having to fill them with nitogen. |

Actually, some places on base have it FREE! > Yeah though, 75cents off base dag nabit! Free? I have not seen free air for at least a decade. When they started charging it was a quarter, but then it magically jumped to $1 and that seems to be standard. I picked up a good 12v/AC pump on sale last year. It works great. I also have a manual bicycle pump. |
