If I'm taking pot-shots, what are you doing? Carpet bombing him?

Do I have to? By the way, my vegetarian recommendation consist of one
word: tempeh. I've mentioned it many times.

Do I have to call out every meat eater every time? I have a life to
live, you know.

So I'm not the only one who noticed that. 'Bruce' takes pot shots, but
nothing too overt. Just enough to hopefully stir things up. Troll
behavior, basically.

Nope. Double standards, it all depends on who it is. Bruce the
trolling hypocrite.

Hello, I was commenting on local place here. JUst part of the thread.
Why did ypu feel it neccessary to say 'it went over my head' that the
specific place wasn't in Hawaii? WE were talking used (refurbished)
appliances in general.

You are so busy being mean to people, it's hard sometimes to figure out
you.

Grin, I have one that pumps magical mix and operates off my car outlet
(the one lighters used to be in). Haven't used a gas station pump in
3-4 years now. Also manual bike pumps here. Only bike left is
Charlotte's adult 3 wheel with back shopping basket. Guess it's mine
now since it would be cheaper to get a new one than ship the old one to
California.

Umm, folks will pay as much as 300$ a month for washingmachine, dryer,
and dishwasher. THey do not cost that much to replace if refurbished.

So you think David's comment "We should go to Airport Appliance" means
there's one on his "rock"? I thought he was being facetious as hell.

He meant his friend should go to a place like it for refurbished
appliances. Don't be so literal.

We had a used appliance dealer in town. Some of the stuff was decent but
the one big appeal was $5 down and $5 a week. For many, the only way to
have a washer or refrigerator.

Not a great deal. That's $260 a year. In 2-3 years that would pay for a
brand new washer... with a warranty. Instead, this deal gets you a
machine that will probably die in a 2-3 years. They'd be better off
looking at a new one.

Appliance rentals are never good deals. They are similar to paycheck
loan companies in that respect. These are industries that prey on the
poor, the unbanked, or those who cannot establish credit.

Who on earth buys an applicance they can't pay for? A washing machine
on credit, really?

Luckily, in America, that's a trending segment of society. Pretty soon, everybody will be poor in the US.

Explain how a minimum wage earner with no credit history can pay for
that brand new unit? That is why the used appliance dealers and places
like Rent A Center exist.

Exactly why he should have fixed his washer - or at least looked into

Chinatown is a 1974 film directed by Roman Polanski. It won an
assortment of international awards for its screenplay, acting, and directing.
It is considered a classic.

But I'm not no American. Would you like to know which Dutch and
Australian movies I've seen?

Noticed how you repeat the same response every day to about 100 posts.
You must be some miserable retired person with absolutely no life. Why
not respond with opinions rather than the same pasted response?

*YOU* are the oddest person in this group.

My daughter once did one of those paycheck loans. I looked it up and she
paid over 400% APR for that short term loan. I was surprised that *that*
was even legal, but it is.

I yelled at her for that.
1) live within your means
2) If you ever need another loan? Ask me, I'm here.

Want good music? Have a listen to this one. It's a bit old but I just
discovered it.

Some people can't. I had a good friend who owed so much his credit card
that he had a hard time making the minimum payment. One of my nephews
owed a lot and later told me it was over $30,000. His parents helped
him get it consolidated and a bank loan to pay off the credit cards. As
soon as that was done he was out there charging up a storm again.
