All we know is what he told us. Perhaps he did have enough income at

Yes, that is the crux. I do not at all mind reduced taxes based on
income but we have grown a large segment that do not pay at all yet as
we gain in debt, the normal deductions 'go away' for any family making
more than 60K or get reduced.

I am well below the so called 250K cap by 150K but got hit hard.

And you have the Republican Congress under Trump to thank for all
of that. The rich benefited and everyone else got the shaft.
