You're the only one who ever called them "baked beans". Let me guess,
you're going have them on top of brown rice. B O R I N G

Yes, that's a fun game. Each time someone says what they're eating, we
all say wether we find that boring. Cool!

Apparently you're the only person who ever thought this was the "real"
Michele Maurer (whoever the hell that is).

Are you ever going to branch out from the same repetitive meals, week
in, week out, ad infinitum? It doesn't matter what you call them but
there is absolutely nothing interesting about them even if you *do*
throw in a bit of pre-cooked meat once in a while.

People in hospitals and likely in prisons eat better, more nutritious
food than you do. Oh, don't forget to heat up a half a mango or
whatever fruit in the microwave and have it with a "sliver" of vanilla
ice cream and call it dessert. Fancy stuff you've got going on there. Heh.

Jill, probably not. He's happy with it and spices them up apparently,
swaps about bean types at times. Since he's going from dried,
nutritionally they are quite high.

Not everyone feels a need to eat something different every day. My
breakfast is normally the same.

2 eggs over easy, hot tea with sugar. Yesterday I varied it and asked
Don to make mine scrambled! Living on the wild side there! (grin).

Of course sometimes it's varied on a weekend (Rice Porridge which
possibly only dsi1 can wrap his head around but isn't a 'normal' thing
to do for him and may never have made it or had it). 2-3 times a year
it's pancakes, 6 times or so it's leftover cold scratch pizza, and
probably 5 times a year, some other leftover like quiche.

Wow, he changes the types of beans. Canned beans are quite high in
protein, too. I'd buy a couple of types of beans but Trappey's white
beans with jalepeno's and some canned pintos and black beans comes to
mind. Savory, not sweet for me. Mildly hot.

Carol... we all have our favourite meals and things we return to on
occasiion. And sure, lots of people eat the same thing for breakfast
every day. Surely you recognize he eats the same things repetitively,
week in, week out, doesn't matter what time of day it is. Beans, brown
rice, his "garlic" potatoes (which he's gone off of, lately). Hey, I
like those potatoes, too. They're essentially au gratin potatoes using
gruyere with extra garlic in the white sauce. Would you want to eat
them every day for a week along *with* the beans and the brown rice and
occasional vegetables?

You have a varied repetoire. He has constant repetition. Totally
different things.

No. You avoided answering uncomfortable questions, John. Like you did
with my other, much more personal ones yesterday. If I'm a just a nym

It's the "Don Rickles" ng here. People will say your meal was crap and
always suggest a better way. lol

I've been in a mail group (mailing list) for over 20 years. The 4 of us
are good friends and we always speak politely to one another. One game
we played for a year or so was pretty fun.

It was the "grocery store" game. Go grocery shopping then post a pic of
all the food bought displayed on the counter top. We also wrote a more
detailed list of the food.

The game was: Name that total price for everything. It was fun to do.

Maybe he eats more variety but doesn't post about the other things?
Anyways, he's happy with it so that's ok with me. For all we know he's
doing all sorts of fancy fried breads too (used to be a doughnut maker
at one time).

Oh I've done that! I really was pretty much scrimping pennies until 3
years ago you know. You still see bits of it here as I cross over
recipes typed for others in a group that teaches how to make it work on
a budget where you get local prices per serving.
