We are having rotisserie chicken for lunch and Chicken Waldorf salad
for dinner. I'm looking forward to both.
Costco will be delivering the rotisserie chicken within the hour.
Since the breast is the last thing we eat, that will go for the
Waldorf salad. I will be adding apples, grapes and pecans to my
version of Waldorf salad.
Doesn't Waldorf salad sound good? It's one of those out of fashion
foods.

I've not had chicken Waldorf salad in at least a hundred years but I sure
like it.

A few years ago while working I made Waldorf salad a fews times and took
it to work. Easy to make and it sure was a hit! I used walnuts because that's
what I had on hand.

I'm not sure what popped that into my mind, but once there it wouldn't
go away.

Nothing wrong with a good Waldorf. Was a good hotel, too. Even better
is a Trump salad, you can taste the extra freedom.

I wonder how many places around the world are named 'Waldorf' (along with a hotel in town with the same name).

Both salads are from the same period of time. We've discussed Cobb
salad here within the last year. I love both salads. There is
another salad popular at that time, Salad Nicoise

The ingredients of the two salads have nothing in common, except maybe
the chicken. A Cobb salad is composed of savory items. The Waldorf
salad is basically fruits.

A Cobb Salad: is a composed salad.
;lettuce, tomatoes, chicken, bacon, hard boiled egg, Roquefort cheese
and a vinegar and oil dressing.

Chicken Waldorf salad: Is a tossed salad
chicken, celery, apple, grapes, pecans or walnuts, mayonnaise and sour
cream, a bit of salt and pepper

Salade Nicoise is another comosed salad.
lettuce, canned tuna, boiled potatoes, green beans, hard boiled eggs,
anchovies, tomatoes, nicoise olives, dressed with a vinegar and oil
dressing.

Well, evidently you just didn't get up from your beer can and pass that salad bowl around enough last Nov 4, now did you?
