Only a fool mows wet grass unless absolutely necessary. It wastes
energy. The coal miners thank you.

Normal people choose to wait until it's dry enough to mow grass.
Then there are idiots such as yourself.....

ELECTRICITY doesn't have a damn thing to do with why it's a bad idea to
mow your lawn while it's wet, dipshit.

That's too small. Three 50 foot lengths is the same as one 150 and
should be at least 12 gauge.

It is 12GA Grounded! Just long enough to mow my entire yard front and back, I have 120VAC outlets all over my 100% electric house and garages.

Maybe at least 10 gauge. The reduced voltage to the motor is bad for
the motor. John used to know stuff like that.

You're getting your lies mixed up in your wet salad of a brain. You
said the back (and front) yard were already mowed just 5 hours ago.

Not getting enough attention, John? Awwwww.

A person who spent 6 years getting an EE degree with daddy's money
should at least know you can't wire more than 100 ft of those
together.

I don't have EE degree and even I know that.

120VAC outlets around the house. What a great idea. I should look into that.

And you think this is a good thing? You're just looking for an excuse
to hop on Craigslist and find a used electric mower once you screw this
one up with the wet grass.

Grounded, Dave. That means three (3) wires, even the ground that is never
supposed to be used.

Perhaps when he said 'grounded', he was referring to a ground fault
protection circuit built into the extension cord.

But being an EE grad, surely he would have made the distinction.

This is the U.S. General-purpose electrical circuits are 120. The
higher voltage is used almost exclusively for stoves, dryers, and
central air-conditioning compressors.

Several 50' lengths are much easier to store... longer cords get all
twisted and kinked...same with garden hoses.

Change to mulching blades... mowed ~7 wet acres yesterday, no mess. Of
course electric mowers are essentially toys... golf courses mow with
diesel.

Dragging 100+ feet of wire to mow is ludicrous, not to mention
dangerous... how many times did Kootchie mow the wire and wrap it
around the mower blades, and his leg, until it broke.

My mother's yard is very small; 40 ft x 100 feet or less. She
always had an electric mower.

I managed to use it without mowing the cord when I was a teenager. I
think Kuthe can cope.

Forget damage or wear on your mower.

IMO, walking around in wet grass using a plugged in electric mower and a
combo of 2-3 electric cords laying on the ground is an accident waiting
to happen.

For that tiny yard a push type reel mower would work... a reel type
mower gives a far better cut than any rotary mower.

Not if he keeps slipping and falling while mowing that wet grass (which
is a stupid idea regardless of the type of mower).

I used an antique one of those as a child for a step-grandparent's yard.
Honestly, it worked very well.

Really that all depends on the size and shape of your lot. A flat,
small city lot, that would be fine. Parts of my yard are at about a 45
degree angle, and I sometimes question my sanity when standing below the
push mower, handle tied down so it doesn't die, and pushing it above me
to reach areas to mow, since it is too steep to mow sideways. I have to
stand on a steep stone wall at some points to continue mowing... I would
literally kill myself dealing with a cord wrapped around me when cutting
about half of my lawn. The joys of living on a hill, I suppose.
