Default Friday night supper

Arctic char, oven fries, steamed local asparagus, salad and avocado
mango salsa. Dessert was a slice of watermelon, a couple strawberries
and grapes and a ginger cooking.

That sounds good.

I had a smoked chicken sandwich from a local stand by the farm stand.
The owner and I had a few conversations about gin. A couple of weeks
ago I took him a G&T made with Roku gin from Japan. I got a smoked pork
loin sandwich his wife made for me. 12 ounces. Had some for lunch the
next day.

Tonight I took him one made with Whitley Neill gin and a slice of
orange. My chicken sandwich was on the house.

I buy tonic water in the 10 oz glass bottles and use half for a drink.
For the ones I took to Will I put the booze in the half full bottle.
The first one I chilled in the freezer and it was getting slushy. Nice
on a hot day.

If I could perfect getting them that way I figure I can sell them at the
high school and make a good living at 10 bucks a pop.

I confess to having had too much gin (martinis) when I was about 16 and
didn't touch gin again until I was about 24 when someone gave me an ice
cold G&T on a hot humid summer day. I loved it. I still like it but
rarely drink it because of the sugar in the tonic.

Just leave out the tonic.

I drink a few a week. There is diet tonic but to me, most diet drinks
are nasty. I keep to max a drink a day for calorie control

My wife was buying diet tonic for a while. It was horrible. I have
drastically reduced my alcohol intake. I have one beer a week and a
glass of wine a couple times a week. I don't know if I dare to throw
liquor into the rotation.

I'm almost out of alcohol (got a couple rums and a Four Loko). What
will some USDA Prime Smoked Beef Short Ribs get me? Keep in mind
they're $12/ea raw.

Don't worry - they'll be ready by the time you get here. There's
also German potato salad and chorizo beans.
