Default Is it true the Iron Chef show is biased?

Read an article by a food critic in Hong Kong who was invited to Japan to be
a judge on the Iron Chef show. He said the producer hinted to him to give
higher score to the Iron Chefs. I was surprised. I would think the Iron
Chefs already have tremendous advantages in terms of being familiar with the
kitchen, being used to do what they need to do in 1 hour, and having done it
so many times they sort of know the likes and dislikes of some of the
frequent critics. Why do they need more?

It is a TV show, not even a real game show (no prizes).
The show is produced in such a way as to gain the highest
possible ratings. Take it for what it is, entertainment
and some faux drama, nothing more and nothing less.

I still think the cooks and Iron Chefs have to know ahead of time what the
surprise ingredient is.

Michael O'Connor - Modern Renaissance Man

"The likelyhood of one individual being right increases in a direct proportion
to the intensity with which others try to prove him wrong."

I can't believe they haven't been forced by the FCC to rename
it The Idiot Show.
