Hey, that's *my* comfort food dish! I originally found it in a Muslim
Cookery book put out by the Ottawa Muslim Women's Auxiliary a long time ago
only it's called Suji Halva there. I make it for myself every once in a
while when I figure I deserve it. Nobody else in the house likes it - go
figure.
come to think of it.... I haven't had it in a while, looks like it's time to
make it again!

Yes,

You are correct. They call it suji halwa, I think I call it sheera
since I come from Bombay...everyone calls it halwa

There are many variations though, and I like one that is south indian
and with banana, and the best one ofcourse is MOONG HALWA...its a
dessert and its so good...and has tons of ghee in it!
