If it's steel, you can use oven cleaner on it. If it's aluminum, do not
use oven cleaner cuz it will eat aluminum.

Or you can try brushing it with Dawn dishwashing liquid, thinned with a
little water, and let it soak for a while before you attack it with a
wet nylon scrubbie.

I think it's aluminum so that's out.

I did the same thing. I used my steemer to get rid of the burned on food.
Worked very well, however I had to clean it 2X.

Let some dishwasher detergent sit on the crud for a while and then
sponge it off. Make sure it is detergent for the dishwasher.

Just went downstairs and looked - mine has two bolts and THEY have holes
in them.

What I have done is stuff

I'll try that if the Dawn suggestion doesn't work... or maybe I'll try
Dawn and hot water.

I'm going to Target tonight to get some Dawn and a nylon scrubber.

Wow... that's a good idea.

I have a vegetable steamer - should I invert the cooker over the steamer
and let it steam that way?

Thanks for the suggestion!

Work out the stains with a nylon scrubbie and some Softscrub. Tilt the
crock potso any water runs out. I've had the same happen to me.

Thanks everyone for your advice!

I used the vegetable steamer to steam the burned-on mess in the bottom
and then scrubbed it with Dawn and the nylon scrubber until FINALLY it
came clean!

Thanks again!!
