Default Housewarming Invitation

Master Frank and Mistress Siobhan Perricone
Late of Somewhere In, Vermont

Request the honour of your presence at the
social christening of their newly built residence:
Trickle Brook Hall

Festivities are to commence at Twelve of the Clock on Saturday
Afternoon, December Eleventh in the year of our Lord Two Thousand and
Four. They will continue until all visitors have left for other
engagements or until Eight of the Clock, whichever comes first. As no
specific entertainments have been scheduled, visitors may arrive at
any time for the duration of the festivities. Holiday decorations and
bountiful treats shall abound, and you are invited to bring any
delicacies you might wish to share with your fellow celebrants.

Gifts are not expected; the great felicity that comes with your
presence is sufficient.

Out of respect for the delicate sensibilities of Mistress Siobhan, all
visitors are asked to eschew tobacco products while they are upon the
premises and grounds.

No RSVP is required, though it is appreciated. Please attend as you
will.

Translation for the more modern guest:

Frank and Siobhan Perricone are having a combination holiday and house
warming party at their new home, Trickle Brook Hall, and would
appreciate the honour of your presence to help them celebrate finally
realizing their dream of living in a house in the woods. Holiday
goodies will be served, and if you have anything in particular you'd
like to share with everyone else, please feel free to bring it.

Time: 12:00 pm to 8:00 pm
Date: Saturday, December 11th, 2004

Gifts aren't necessary, and we ask that no one smoke anywhere in the
house or immediately outside it.

(I'm currently without internet at my house (no phones yet, either)
but I'm able to check email from work. Please respond via email if you
want to attend would like the know the location and need directions, I
didn't include them here because I didn't want them stored on the
internet in perpetuity. I also no longer have facilities for putting
people up for the night.)

Congratulations!

For some certain of us who won't be free to attend do you think you can manage
the link to the aforementioned pictures? Thanks.

Thanks for the invitation. I am in South Jersey and were this
any other time of year, I would go, but my weekends into January
are already booked with either holiday shopping and/or holiday
festivities. Best of luck with your new home and congratulations.

As I live in Sydney..Oz..I find it would be a 'little' difficult to accept
your very kind invitation....Siobhan........But I wish you all the best for
your future happiness in your 'New House' in the Woods !...I would love to
meet the folk in this group..But...being 'Down under' as you say..and me
being of an 'advanced' age (not).....only 65 :-) the chances of my going
to the 'Northern Hemisphere is really a little remote ....<g>..Unless I was
to meet a very 'Elderly ' rich widow or something...but then..I would miss
my 'Grandchildren if I was to go away...<G>...

Oi...

I still have problems connecting to the internet from home, and I've
been lagging on a lot of stuff because of it. I"m trying to post from
google now...

I ended up wimping out in the end and service little smokies cooked in
Stubbs BBQ sauce, a cookie and baklava tray from Costco, cold cuts and
cheese from the deli counter at Shaws, cocktail pumpernickle and
crackers, freshly ground coffee, store bought eggnog, veggies and dip.
Neighbors brought some cheese dip and chips, apples and caramel dip.

One of my friends came and cooked latkes for us on my Dacor cooktop.
MMmmmm She hand grated the potatoes and it was really nice.

I got some really lovely gifts (a serving platter and serving bowl that
are beautiful).

My husband ended up getting gastroenteritis (sp?) and has been sick
since last Sunday (though he's slowly improving, he keeps doing too
much and pushing himself hard the moment he feels a little better and
then suffers a relapse).

I'm not sure where he got it because no one else got ill that I know
of. The only thing he had that I didn't was the salsa and cheese dip
the neighbors brought.

It was a lot of fun but I was exhausted at the end of the day (we had
people right up until just after 8). Everyone loved the house (how
could you not? and there was pleasant conversation and just
generally getting to know people. All of my neighbors showed up except
one of the older ones. She was probably ill or something.

Another of our neighbors gave some firewood (I couldn't find seasoned
firewood to save my life this year) that was really old from several
years ago, so we should be able to burn that with some green ash we
have from the tree we had to take down to get satellite.

Soooo many things...

Now I'm working on my Holiday dinner. It's been hard to think of an
interesting holiday dinner with Frank being ill and having to eat bland
food (my husband, eating chicken broth with matzo balls and enjoying
it, that's how I *know* he's sick ;D he usually hates soup).

house pictures.
