Here's another link to some good explanations of Korean food:
http://efl.htmlplanet.com/korean_food.htm I had a great experience today. I went to one of the biggest Oriental grocery stores in town, Sagara Mart, and it was spectacular! It was like stepping into a foreign country. All the different foods were totally exciting. They had blue-legged crabs crawling around in a sack, all kinds of already prepared stuff, frozen fish laying out. I wasn't going directly home or else I would have bought some of the heat-and-eat stuff and tried it out. I settled for some Thai chili sauce with a recipe on the back with ingredients that I understood. I had a wonderful time. I wandered up and down every aisle several times. I've got to come up to speed on it enough to cook some of the dishes. It's hard to decide where to start. Michael |
