A recipe I have calls for a "cake" of yeast. The yeast I have comes in a free posdered form. So how much is equivalent to one cake? The reply-to email address is . This is an address I ignore. Olczyk, PhD Usually 1 packet of dry yeast is equivalent to 1 cake of yeast, although yeast in cake form sometimes comes in more than one size. If the recipe only specifies "1 cake", then I would assume 1 packet. Use of other sizes of cake yeast is usually specified. -- Wayne in Phoenix *If there's a nit to pick, some nitwit will pick it. *A mind is a terrible thing to lose. |
