Hope you can help. I am seeking the recipe for a dish called "Yam Pot"
which I beleve is Malaysian in origin. My exposure to this dish was from a Thai-Japanese-Malaysian fusion sort of restaurant. The dish contained a starchy patty made up of deep fried taro root and other ingredients in a light brown, slightly sweet sauce. This was covered with ssorted stir fry vegetables and pan-roasted cashews. Overall it has a very simple nutty sort of flavor that I can't seem to decipher. Can anyone tell me first how to make the patty, and then assuming this is a known traditional dish, what the sauce might be? It's definitely a different flavor than a typical "chinese restaurant" sweet brown sauce. Thank you. Baz -- |
