Melt 2 Tbs. butter with a dash of salt and pepper in a saucepan and stir in 2 Tbs. flour. Add 1/2 c. milk or buttermilk and stir until smooth and starting to thicken. There was a packaged noodle thing called "Noodles Romanoff" that enjoyed a brief popularity many years ago. It held promise but was "icky". The name was adopted for the following dish which fulfills the promise and is definitely not icky. Charlie NOODLES ROMANOFF Source: unknown Posted by Charlie 10 oz. wide egg noodles 1.5 cups sour cream 1/4 cup grated sharp Cheddar cheese 1 tsp. salt 1/2 tsp. pepper 2 cloves garlic, crushed 2 tbs. butter chopped parsley Cook the noodles and drain. While the noodles are cooking combine the sour cream, Cheddar, salt, pepper and garlic in a medium bowl. Put the drained noodles into a serving dish and stir in the butter. Stir the sour cream mixture into the noodles and sprinkle with the parsley. Serves 2 to 4. |

Lipton or whomever makes the little packaged noodle mixes makes a noodles
Romanoff mix. a white/off white creamy sauce..<shrug> one of my favorites to have with some grilled chops or whatever. Have no idea what the flavor is actually..just kind of a generic noodles in a creamy sauce(not much different from the stroganoff noodles, but sauce does seem to have a white cheesy sauce.. -- Laura GAYLAN FOR PRESIDENT!
