Well, the new bathroom is almost completed. We have a new
Jaccusi brand tub which we filled up tonight and ran the
jets just to hear how loud it is. The jets are fairly
quiet, but you wouldn't believe the amount of noise made by
the draining water! Unbelievable! :\ Is this normal or is
it a fixable problem?

Rebuild the house? Reinstall the plumbing with insulation,
including the drains? Have a speaker playing with white
noise to cancel it out?

We've had a Jacuzzi brand tub for almost 18 years. I hope they've improved
them, because our jets are very noisy - or at least, the motor running them.
I've had a hard time relaxing in it with all the racket! Good insulation
would probably help ours. Water drains out OK, though.

Is it draining rapidly or slowly? Often a fast drain will be noisy; a fast
drain is a good thing. The excessive noise can be corrected either by a
plumber adding a more narrow section of drain pipe and/or insulation. If your
tub is making noise but is draining slowly it's because there is too much
restriction or improper venting; this situation needs a plumbing correction.
I'd live with the noise of a rapidly draining tub; will keep your pipes clean.
