I don't consider myself a friend of the OP. He's just plain
spamming.

You hit the nail squarely on the head.

There are 5 USB ports but only one is empty. ;-)
The lefthand one on the keyboard. That's the one I use to load my camera.

250 gigs?!?!?? That'd be awesome! My current HD is only 60 gigs so I
could back up the entire thing in one fell swoop!

Thank you!!!

Yeah, they are a little expensive for that.....

Get a powered USB hub. You can find USB hubs online or at any
electronics or computer store. For around $30 you can get a powered hub
with 7 USB ports, but do not use USB 1 for a disk drive as it will be
painfully slow. If your computer lacks a USB 2 port and you have a spare
PCI slot, you can easily install a PCI card that has both a firewire and
USB 2 ports on it for a nominal cost, maybe around $30.

Absolutely true. USB 2 is *much* faster than USB 1 and well worth
getting the PCI adaptor card. USB 2 or Firewire is required for the IPOD
anyhow. (At least the 40G unit that I have)

I don't see why not. Check it out! EBay has
flash/thumb/USB drives cheap.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...2186 678&rd=1

128MB USB 2.0 Flash Disk/Hard/Pen/Thumb Drive
Buy it now price is $12.99 - a real bargin!
The seller even has a FAQ, so I suppose your
question would be answered there.

Yes. No problem. You do need to buy a PCI card that has a Mac OS driver,
but a wide variety of them do.
