Default Microwave cleaning

I recall once reading that putting lemon juice in water and then 'cooking'
for a min or so is a good way of cleaning the interior of a microwave; is
this, or was it ever, true?

If not, is there any other way apart from with a rag and spray? )
TIA

I've never tried this, so I can't say.

I find that "Easy-Off" microwave wipes work well:

I put a cup of just plain water into the microwave and set it for 10
minutes.

This "steam cleans" my microwave, softening any dried on stuff.

As a general rule tho', I try to keep it clean as I use it. I try not to
let stuff dry on but if it does, the above method makes cleaning it a
breeze!
