Default Spicy Chicken Not-Tortilla Soup

Nancy's recipe. I used a can of jalapeños instead of a can of green
chilies and no tortellini. ¡Ay, chihuahua! Rob couldn't eat it and I
blame him not one whit! I ate his, though, as well as mine. I suppose
I'll pay later. Sure got my nose running, though.

HAVE MERCY!!! That's mighty spicy for Minnesota palates.

Tonight's dinner was fairly spicy. SO got takeout from the yupscale
Mexican place near his work. He got me the boniato (sweet potato) soft
tacos, he ordered the halibut soft tacos. Chips and salsas, black
beans, and coleslaw on the side. He also got flan and key lime pie for
dessert, which we mix-&-matched. Most yummy.

Tortellini? I *thought* I had the recipe you were talking about until you
said tortellini! (I assume you meant tortilla chips.)

I made Nancy's soup just a few weeks ago, and substituted a couple chipotles
in adobo for the hot sauce. Perked the stuff right up, let me tell you! I
also cut up corn tortillas and simmered them in the soup: If I'm going to
call it "Tortilla Soup," it should have tortillas IN the soup! Next time, I
might leave out the tortillas but put in some okra and cooked white rice to
"gumbofy" it.

No, I meant tortellini -- you'd have to read the other thread I started
about Frozen Tortellini. :-)
