Google news just provided a bunch of links to this - I'll put one up:
http://www.timesonline.co.uk/article...433804,00.html Unfortunately all the olive oil I've been eating all of my life didn't stop breast cancer from happening to *me*, but on the other hand, the tumor is her-2 negative which I think the article mentions. I'll be asking my oncologist. In the meantime, the breast cancer manual which suggested "ultra low fat diet" is clearly not correct. They didn't point to any definitive studies anyway. I'm eating rather normally but trying to eat whole foods. My acupuncturist and Western doctors agree - a wide variety of foods is important. However the oncologist said no soy supplements and go easy on the soy foods. Estrogen, even plant-based, not a good thing in my case. Snacking on almonds tonight - looks like I ought to get out the za'atar and mix it up with olive oil to put on bread for a late night snack. Leila formerly leilasab - so sick of the spam mail |
