This was in an e-mail that had been forwarded to me. I can't say
whether it's true or not, but it is funny. We went to breakfast at a restaurant where the "seniors' special" was two eggs, bacon, hash browns and toast for $1.99. "Sounds good," my wife said. "But I don't want the eggs." "Then I'll have to charge you two dollars and forty-nine cents because you're ordering a la carte," the waitress warned her. "You mean I'd have to pay for not taking the eggs?" My wife asked incredulously. "I'll take the special." "How do you want your eggs?" "Raw and in the shell," My wife replied. She took the two eggs home. |

Reminds me of an encounter I had a half-dozen years ago. I ate dinner at a moderately-fancy Italian restaurant, and ordered a dinner special that included a cappuccino or dessert after the meal. I asked for an espresso; the waitress apologized and said that the special only came with cappuccino. I replied, "all right. Give me a cappuccino, hold the milk." Of course, as is often the case in restaurants, the espresso was terrible, but that's another story. -- to respond (OT only), change "spamless.invalid" to "optonline.net" <http://www.thecoffeefaq.com/> |
