Default A recipe for making flavorings?

I'm looking for a recipe for making flavorings.

I couldnt find any on the recipe sites I frequent.

I like the hazelnut and vanilla syrup that coffee houses put in their
coffee.

I'd like to make hazelnut, vanilla, maybe a berry flavor...

How do I go about making these?

Actually I don't really have a clue as I never made them my self, but when
it comes to making berry and vanilla syrup I can offer a reasonable guess.
For vanilla syrup you'd basically have to buy a few vanilla beans and then
take cup or two of sugar, add a bit of water and 2-3 vanilla beans in a pot.
Melt the sugar on low heat and keep on low heat for an hour or two, until
required vanilla flavour is there. Then remove the pods and discard, let
cool enough to pour in a bottle and stick in another vanilla bean. Store in
a fridge for a few weeks prior to use. A splash of the syrup should give you
enough sugar and flavour for a cup of coffee.
For a strawberry syrup: take a bowl of berries and put them in a pot, take
an equal amount of sugar and pour it over the berries. Cover with a lid, and
let stay a few hours. Then bring to boil, skim and let simmer for an hour or
so. Pout over in a strainer (lined with cheese cloth) and let drain. Once
the juice is drained, possibly over night, pour it over in a pot again and
bring to boil. Skim and let simmer another hour until reduced to half. Pour
into a clean bottle, cover and let cool and store in the fridge.
Hope this helps
Kaari

thank you sooo much Kaari Jae.

I appreciate the input on the berry and vanilla. I might try oven
roasting the hazel nuts, and then using the vanilla recipe in its place.
I think Its worth a try though.

I will keep scouring for the hazel nut syrup.
