Default Pop Corn Butter

hi all,
Just wondering if the kind of pop corn butter you get at the movies can
be purchased in a store someplace or online or where ever and if anyone
knows brands etc? I love the stuff on popcorn and plain ole ordinary melted
butter doesn't seem to same to me. And...<g> just what is that stuff anyway
? Thanks in advance guys/gals.

Have you tried the butter flavored Crisco. It's probably about what they
use at the theatre.

Wasn't coconut oil (tasty but high in saturated fat) the most popular
oil for that use until the food police condemned it?

I would bet you could go to a food service company and buy it.

It's usually not butter.

Go to a store like Smart & Final

http://www.smartandfinal.com/

Check out their commercial popcorn flavorings.

I don't think you want to know what the stuff is LOL. However the
warehouse places sell orange-coloured popcorn 'butter' in large
quantities.

Okay, I used to man the popcorn machine at the State theatre. This place had
deco carpeting and a balcony. I have heard that since my time there, it has
been spliced into several theatres.

The stuff I used to pour into the hopper (not sure of the right word) to pop
the corn was sort of orange in color. I would guess that it had lots of salt
in it and something to give the plain corn a little color.

The fake butter we used was in a large plastic jar. It was solid like Crisco,
or even butter, for that matter. I think it was butter solids or somesuch. It
probably had stretchers in it to get a buttery flavor.

To think day, I still don't enjoy popcorn very much, as we could eat all we
wanted and I used to put on triple "butter."
