This is how I'm going to get to the real subject of this post: What she
said. Kid and parents were here for the weekend. Spaghetti and meat-a-balls for supper on Friday night. Kid was up at 5:30 a.m. yesterday and her grandfather allowed it. I made Queen Baba because I made star-shapaed pancakes (from scratch) for her breakfast. Before noon, we had decorated our Valentine cookies, had a tea party with bears and Valentine cookies, gone sliding in the front and back yards, and built a snowman. After an early supper we went swimming. On the way home from swimming, I was musing aloud to all in general and no one in particular about our day -- what we'd done. From the back seat comes, "Why you talking to yourself, Baba?" Beck and I bit our cheeks to keep from laughing out loud. Why, indeed. Sometimes, the most intelligent conversations I have are with myself. I'll have pictures up by tomorrow. Pancakes 1 egg 2 tbsp oil 3/4 cup milk 2 tbsp sugar 1 cup flour 1/2 tsp salt 2-1/2 tsp baking powder Beat the egg until foamy; beat in the oil, milk, and sugar. (Rotary beater or whisk.) Add the dry ingredients and beat or whisk together. Bake on a hot griddle, turning once when bubbles appear on the surface of the batter. -- -Barb <www.jamlady.eboard.com>; Tater Tot Hotdish and Jam Class pics added 2-2-05 "I got the motive, which is money; and the body, which is dead!" - Rod Steiger as Sheriff Gillespie, "In the Heat of the Night," 1967. |
