I lived outside Omaha some years ago..
I think I'll always remember the daily Farm Report, with the price of; Soybeans, Milo, Pork Bellies, Wheat, etc. etc...... As an Eastern city boy, I can remember thinking, "What in hell is "MILO" ?? We lived several miles from a feed lot ( also new to me ) and when the wind blew just right.... I was born in Garden City, Michigan. My mother's parents were born in
Romania and my father's parents were born in Lithuania. Lithuanian was Dad's first language, but he couldn't read the article I sent him in that language. Oh, well, he's 84 now so shouldn't have to work at reading. I hope that he is enjoying the thrillers I sent him. Lee Child, you know. I have lived in Denver, Colorado for over 20 years. We are expecting our next snowstorm within days. It's been a dry winter so far. |

I'm actually north of Denver in little Sidney Nebraska. I'd be coming in from I-76, btw. But if there are enough of us in the general vicinity, I'm game for a get-together!
