Default Why Are Some Posters So Petty...???

So I check in here and there is a nice "Braided Loaf Pan" thread going on...

One poster in the thread gives factual information which would benefit the
OP. Framed a little bit "strongly" perhaps, but it's the truth...and meant
to be helpful. No harm in that...

In response to the above another poster ejaculates all over the place an
incredibly rude response:

"Then don't get a braided loaf pan, xxx....
That's not what this lady asked.
Why can't you just answer the question without injected [SIC] your
"holier-than-thou" attitude?"

What is up with a person who gives such a snotty response? Do they hate
people in general - or maybe even just hate themselves so much that they
have to project their abject misery onto newsroups...???

It beats all, don't it...???

It's a tough group, Greg. Sorta like Truman said, "If you cant stand the
heat, get out of the kitchen", or something like that. :-)

OTOH, there certainly is a lot of sniping here at times.

Be ready to be blasted, Greg. I've only been posting here for a short
while, and have been criticized for not buying a full size food
processor, when I explained the limitations of a Mini Prep, and just
about everything I've offered sinced. There are, fortunately, a lot of
nice people here, who offer a lot of useful and politely offered
infomation. There are also a number of morons here who take exception
in a totally holier-than-thou, rude, as offensive as can be manner.
They like to run off the meek new posters, which is unfortunate. I've
been participating in NG's since back in the Compuserve days, late
80's, and have encountered only one other group so deliberately
offensive. Even that was mostly one person. But I refuse to let them
run me off, never let bullies bully me when I was a kid, not gonna
start now. Hang around, and enjoy those of us who are here to get
information and help each other out, and ignore the ones who are here
to salve their flagging egos at the expense of just plain nice people
like you and I and others.

You can't talk about Sheldon that way! Oh, wait, yes you can. Ok,
never mind. Carry on.

Fine words, but Greg has been around for at least six years or more.
Unless of course this isn't the real Greg but an impostor. A cursory
check of the header indicates that it appears to be legitimate.

I wouldn't worry too much about it. Just learn to use your reader's killfile
feature.

For example, I killfiled Sheldon years ago and my RFC Usenet experience has
been peachy ever since...

Hmmmmm....kinda like posters who always have nasty (and totally inaccurate)
comments to make about one particular city whenever that city is mentioned
in a thread...

Yeah...I, too, wonder WHAT IS UP WITH THAT, GREG???

I don't use a kill file and I have absolutely NO CLUE who
you're talking about.
