Hi all,
Is there anyone here that have allergic reaction to Parsley or Bay leaves? I noticed that everytime I eat Italian dishes that have Parsley or Bay leaves or maybe even Oeregano, my face gets all itchy, red and welts. I have tried searching for information on the internet but with no luck. I can't possibly be the only one. Please help. Keith |

You can be allergic to anything, so you need to find out exactly which thing
it is that bothers you because bay leaf, oregano, and parsley are all from different families. It's possible to be allergic to several things but you have to identify them one at a time. Since you seem to have had different spices on different occasions that effected you is it possible that your allergy could be to something else that was eaten on all the occasions? Try to remember what one food you encountered every time you had a reaction.. With Italian food my immediate thought would be tomatoes. They have a high incidence of allergies and would be in many Italian dishes. If not tomatoes how about olive oil? I can't possibly be the only one. Please help. Maybe it's the tomatoes. Might want to check that out. Carol -- "Years ago my mother used to say to me... Messing with food allergies is like Russian Roulette. The more exposure the more dangerous the reaction can become. If violent enough you die! Dimitri |
