I am sooooo lost.

I think I read through one of the postings that had "Chung" in the
subject... it didn't appear of interest to me so I ignored it. <shrug> I
guess I missed something.

What's all the uproar about? If anyone didn't want to read about "Chung"
why didn't they just ignore the postings?

NOTE about safety patrols, our schools always had orange belts with the big
silver badge. Wanna hear a story?

I was in first grade and I guess I showed some of my rebel genes early. I
lived at the first house, on the second block from school, on the opposite
side of where the crossing guards were. KEY: I is the school , o is a
house, x is my house, = and ll are streets, and + is a crossing guard.

I I o o o o o o o ll x
I I ==========ll=====
I I + o o o o o o o ll

Anyway, I would only cross 'straight' from the school to the first block
(rather than cross 'straight' and then cross again from right to left) and
then I'd cross at the next corner or sometimes I would JAYWALK and cross in
the middle of the block. I know, bad girl! Well, one day, the safety
patrol has a buddy with him... they're feeding each other's egos and then
one of them made an off-hand remark to me. I'm sure I said something
back... and to really **** them off, after I got about one house past them I
crossed the street. It worked. Mr. Power trip really rattled off some
stuff, as did his buddy. I, not being one to back off from confrontation,
walked back to them to give them a bit of what they were dishing out. Well,
one thing lead to another and one of them cold-cocked me. Made for a
beautiful shiner. I remember shaking my head to clear out muddy thoughts...
turned around, walked past two houses and yes, you guessed it, crossed the
street! My mother was so angry when she saw her baby girl with a black eye.
hahahaha Yep, the girl had moxie. Was a bit lacking in common sense but
definitely had moxie.

Does the acronym F.O.A.D. ring any bells with you? Welcome to the
elite few (2 to be exact) existing entries in my killfile.

Ever wonder about those people who spend $2.00 apiece on those little

Well, that would be rational, wouldn't it. Apparently it's too hard a
course of action for many.

Of course, it does. It means **** off and die. Perhaps a bit strong
for your response to my posting what you don't like. I mean it is your
own personal usenet, and all...

It's good you finally learned how to use a killfile. Save your being
*forced* to read everything online.

<LOL> I love it when people announce that gesture. It reads like a
flounce out of the room, curls tossing and purposeful strides echoing
from the austere marble walls. Get a life, Steve.

Oh, wait. Steve won't see this.

Yes, we could just ignore the postings; but why should we have to do
that? "Dr." Chung is a troll, plain and simple, who started cross
posting here thanks, IIRC, to Mr. Pasterino. Mr. Pasterino continues
to x-post his flames and post new OT threads flaming this net kook,
despite being asked by numerous people to stop. It makes the newsgroup
harder for others to enjoy and it's completely pointless to boot.
Don't you think that's just a little rude on his part?

Tracy R.

Most people don't have the ability to delete a few OT posts
unread and allow themselves to be annoyed over virtually
nothing. These Chung posts are nothing compared with the
flooding that happened here a couple of years ago!

For the same reason that you ignore advertising. And mail you didn't
request. And panhandlers. And traffic. And the whining of people like you.

Dear sludgewit ravinwulf:
If Chung crossposted here first, how could it be "thanks to Mr.
Pasterino?" Very clear thinking there...

Chung is a great deal more and a great deal less than "a troll, plain
and simple." Were you able to get beyond your simplistic and simpleton
understandings, you might grasp that.

It's such a desperate and lofty burden to *not* read some posts. I
know how hard it is...

That's correctly spelled "P-a-s-t-o-r-i-o." Pastorio.

Uh-oh. Now you've done it. You're saying that all the tumult and
commotion about a few posts isn't world-shakingly important.

Uh-oh. Now you're probably a commie or something, too. Like me. No
respect for the finer points of human interaction or household sanitation.

Uh-oh.

Ah, "mirroring." Crossposting to make the point that crossposting is
bad. Like screwing for virginity. Well done.

Like that parent in the mall smacking a child, "I've <smack> told you
a hundred <smack> times <smack> not to hit <smack> your sister.
<smack> Hitting is <smack> bad....."

Actually, I didn't initiate the crossposting. Except where I did. And
in that case, I was just following orders from higher-ups.

I don't even want to see OT headers that are soooo far OT as to be of
little if any interest to any regular poster in this group. I don't take
it personally, but I find it irritating as hell. Luckily, using the score
file in Xnews, I actually see absolutely none of it.

Well, er, no... Much as I like you Cyndi, I didn't find this interesting

Do you always remember to put the seat up in the first place, or do you just
pee on the seat, as you seem to do so in rfc?

I used to really enjoy your posts, but you've insinuated your exchange about
Mr. Chung, et. al., far too long.

The more kill filters you add to your news reader, the slower it
processes the headers. Idiot. But no fear, you will not bother me any

Especially since this thread is getting as silly as the Chung threads!
Sheesh guys! I've only not killed the thread because Pastorio's replies
to it are so entertaining! ;-)

<sigh> Where were you fifteen years ago?

<EG>

Yes, I'll post the recipe later tonight after we enjoy the chili and
cornbread recipes.

I did previously, I don't care for Xnews' user interface. I prefer
Xananews. The filtering isn't quite as sophisticated as Xnews/slrn but
it's pretty good. That's if we ever get usenet access back.

Exactly. Just like it is - oh so obviously - yours. It's a moment of
serious hilarity when you, in your crushingly vulgar, lightweight way,
assail me for rudeness. Your silly, off-the-mark conclusions, your
blunt-instrument reasoning, your unfortunate inability to see yourself
and your generally not-too-bright ways.

<LOL> You're too much a featherweight to really come after. By my own
admission, I say that there are things that are funny in the world.
That there are things not so desperately important that you should
get your undies all atwist. That you seem to need a blast of oxygen to
clear the brain and recognize priorities.

If all you've gotten from my posts is that by my "own admission, [I'm]
basically just Usenet's version of a telemarketer," then your stunted
capacities are sadly but clearly on neon display. If, OTOH, you think,
as you seem to, that this is an example of sharp repartee, then you
should park in the handicapped spaces.

<LOL> Chung followed me so it's my fault. With reasoning like that, I
bet you had you PhD before you were 20.

<snerk> Well, I guess that clears it right up. How could anyone ever
think otherwise now that ravinwulf has pronounced the truth. Sounds
more like "I know the absolute truth" Chung with each passing
sentence... Same brilliant reading comprehension, too.

Um, note that I didn't say anything about filters. I said *not* read
some posts. That means to, um, *not* read some posts. Just don't read
them. You know, like don't click on them to read them. Just *not* read
them.

> the slower it processes the headers. Idiot.

I bet if you put 2,000,000 filters on your system, it would slow
things down to where they would be just a *tiny* bit too fast for you...

> But no fear, you will not bother me any more.

Oh, I suspect I will. But if putting in many filters is sooooo
burdensome, just put my name in there alone. And I'm so shattered that
you would remove my hugely informative, dazzlingly funny and
reasonably well punctuated posts. Shattered, I tell you.

Hey, Trace, regards to you, too. And the horse you rode in on.

And I mean that in the nicest possible way.

For both you and the horse.

No, seriously...

Bob,

I'm sure you don't think so, but this whole "thing" of yours, i.e., cross-
posting, Chung, et. al., and trying to justify it, etc., has really become
tiresome and lacking of any interest to almost every regular poster here.

Why not just give it up and go back to being the Bob Pastorio we all enjoyed.

No, seriously!
