I block all articles from or related to Chung (and many other idiotic people and topics) using the score file in Xnews. Perhaps your newsreader has a similar function. I haven't seen any of this crap in months. Here's a sample file: ------------------------------------------ % score file for Xnews % read scoring.txt for instruction % hopefully kills all anonymous re-mailers [.] Sco-9999 References: @melontraffickers.com References: @anonymous % kill Bush and Kerry posts and Dr. Chung posts Sco: -9999 Subject: Bush|Kerry|Chung|politics|political|vote|President |congress|senate|Nov 2 Subject: We Have won!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!|Bin Laden % kill money spam and sex spam Sco: -9999 Subject: \$\$\$+|FS:|FA: Subject: [fs]uck|sex|xxx+|naked|nude|PORNO % kill miscellaneous subjects Sco -9999 Subject: website|hosting|football|baseball|basketball|socce r|domains|domain % kill miscellaneous subjects Sco -9999 Subject: sales|Christian|Christianity|Bible|Religious|Relig ion|Lucy|Aida Lott % kill if subject doesn't contain at least 1 lower case letter % i.e., kill all caps subject Sco: -9999 ~Subject= [a-z] % kill followup to all caps subject while we're at it. I'm don't care enough to Google for them. And IIRC in the post about impersonating an author he was drunk as a skunk and wasn't he with or had been with Justin Wilson drinking "lemonade" at the time? I have, until recently, had Bob in my "watch" file because of his knowledgeable posts and great writing. But if this doesn't work I'll resort to doing so. (sigh) Most people in my killfile are there because of an inability/refusal to trim their posts, or for whining about their rights to top-post. Since these people are unlikely to educate themselves or learn manners, they'll stay there. That said, there are exceptions. When Bob was on his Sheldon-bashing jag, he went into the killfile for a week or two. When un-killfiled, he was still at it, so back he went for awhile. Considering that tons of pleas to switch the default Reply to the one that includes quoted text have fallen on deaf Google ears, I have little faith that something as complex as killfiles and filters would be added. One never knows. I just want them to get our feed fixed. Unfortunately, as the IT guy has told me, usenet has about as low a priority as can be and still exist. Brian |

I have laboriously been kf'ing every single responder to Bob (this one). It doesn't do any good to only kf Bob this one), b/c his responders will show up like army ants after a picnic. I often kf entire threads when it becomes apparent that Bob (this one) is at it again along with his merry band of whack jobs, but am annoyed at having to edit "my" own newsgroup! <grumble, grumble> Terry "Squeaks" Pulliam Burd AAC(F)BV66.0748.CA "If the soup had been as hot as the claret, if the claret had been as old as the bird, and if the bird's breasts had been as full as the waitress's, it would have been a very good dinner." -- Duncan Hines To reply, replace "spaminator" with "cox" |

Justin was in town for a book signing and I had him on my radio program where we began the day with a most tasty lemonade (I thought). Afterward we went to the Costco store where he was to sign books. I sat with him and continued drinking his "Thomas Justin Collinses" (equal parts CountryTime lemonade and gin) as we had been at the station. A woman asked me if I was "somebody" and he reached over and tapped a book by John Grisham. She gushed about how much she loved "my" books and said that this was the only one she didn't have and on and on... He picked up the book and told me to stop being so bashful and just go ahead and sign the book for the nice lady. So I did. As the afternoon wore on, he tapped several other books, and I think I was Dean Koontz for a while, too. In addition to some others I'd never heard of. Someone drove me home. Justin's "assistant" drove him somewhere. She came to the radio station carrying two coolers with CountryTime logos on them. Justin asked me how I liked her jugs. Guy was 83 at the time, freshly thrown out of his house because his wife caught him messing around (or so he said). Pastorio |

Sounds like my kind of an afternoon... Changing the subject here, Pastorio, what do you think of the foreman grill? I've been using it more and more frequently lately, but the damned thing is too small! I'd like to be able to grill more than one little piece of meat at a time, and I'd also like to try grilling sliced squash in it at the same time. Being able to cook an entire meal on it at once would be handy! I've recently discovered just how _wonderful_ cooking fish in it is! Catfish and salmon specifically. I just put a little salt free lemon pepper and dried dill on top and grill it that way. No more corn meal coating. <G> I'd like to get a larger grill. Which one would you recommend in a reasonable price range, say, $100.00? Or have you ever used one of these? Thanks! Kat -- K. Sprout the Mung Bean to reply... It was funny then and it's still funny now. Justin was a character, wasn't he? His show was appointment TV for me! sf |

Try to avoid the passive voice. perhaps "I don't understand why he was doing that" get to the point faster and clearer. > I dunno, but since I'm in a sullen mood today anyway, I'm just gonna make > him go away. > > Bye, Bob! > Carol <sigh> Life is so complex and we have such a short time to live it and this is merely usenet and look how the thread is being prolonged by discussions of discussions - meta-discussions. If you can muster enough attention to note that I've stopped posting Chung crap here today, the obvious should smite you right in the imagination. Well maybe not you - or should I say "y'all" so it's clearer. I'm abjectly apologetic that I didn't reply in the precise fashions you'd have liked me to. Perhaps we can create some templates for correct reaction to your posts. Maybe set up a web site with the exact language and formats. When I'm done typing this, I'm going downstairs and throw myself on my Moulinex cheese grater as a perfect culinary act of contrition. Ooops. I don't have a Moulinex cheese grater. I guess I'll throw myself on my wife. She seems to enjoy that. Get lives, kids. Bob |

Yeah, the template would be to *quit freekin' cross-posting*!! Sit down. Breathe in... breathe out... breathe in... breathe out... When you were in the school safety patrol, did you wear one of those cool white belts that went around your waist and over your shoulder. I thought they were cool. Big badge on it... No, seriously...
