Default had prime rib for dinner

Well I made the prime rib for tonights dinner and it was FANTASTIC!!! I used
a recipe from Allrecipes.com. It turned out wonderful..so much flavour and
so tender. My husband ate almost half of the 4 pound roast himself. Here is
the recipe if anyone is interested.

I am curious - that recipe calls for a ten pound rib roast and the 80
minutes oven time it calls for comes out to 8-9 minutes a pound, max.

If you had a four pound roast, did you use the recipe's 8 minutes a pound,
or did you roast your four pound roast 80 mintues, i.e., 20 minutes a pound
?

thanx

I cooked it at 460 degrees for 20 minutes then turned it down to 325 i
refered to my meat thermometer for doneness..and it worked out to be about
20 minutes per pound for med rare..
I kept the same portion of oil mixture as the recipe called for and covered
the entire roast with it not just the top. Trust me it was so good..actually
i am having the leftovers right now as we speak and it still tastes great..
Oh....One more thing...the drippings that were in the pan make a good juice
for it..i added a little water to the bottom of the roaster and wisked it to
scrape the bottom of the pan..and served it on the side..
Enjoy!!!.

You still haven't figured out how to put a name in the
author's column?

I'm surprised no one here has given you a tutorial!

As I've pointed out many times previously, any standard meat roasting
chart instructs exactly the same.
