I wanted to thank whoever in this newsgroup (I really don't remember
who, sorr) recommended Laurie Colwin's "Homecooking". I bought it, loved reading it, and definitely cook from it! I subsequently bought "More Homecooking" and liked it a lot too. I recently made her rice and lemon pudding (slow cooked in the oven in half-and-half), it was a hit. She's definitely my type of cook - from scratch, with shortcuts, quirky and unformal :-) Nathalie in Switzerland |

Could have been me. I talk about her frequently. But could have been
somebody else so I won't insist on the credit. Let's just say we both like her for the same reasons. She turned me on to Jane Grigson, although I've never been able to borrow a copy of English Food and haven't wanted to pay the used price for it (>$50). Leila |

I know I didn't pay $50 for it. (This was back when the Yankee dollar was worth something in Europe. The price in pounds on the back cover is 19.99.) It's a revised hardback edition copyrighted by Sophie Grigson, 2002. If you email me, I'd be happy to negotiate a loan for a month. I have yet to cook anything out of it, but it's an interesting read. Cindy -- C.J. Fuller Delete the obvious to email me |

Yes, indeed, it was you! It was in the middle of a long thread about cookbooks I think. Well, thank you! Nathalie in Switzerland |
