Even though it is some with soap-making supplies, I'd bet it is food
grade; Columbus Foods owns soaperschoice.com, and they sell shortening
and cooking oils too. You can call and find out.

Best regards,

Do a search for candy making supplies. You may have to check a few sites
before you find it, not all of them have it. Make sure you buy food grade,
and not the cocoa butter intended for soaps/lotions.

Would pharmaceutical grade work? I have seen it at the prescription
counter and it definitely wasn't intended for soap or lotion.

http://www.chocosphere.com. This is food grade for sure, and I trust the
quality of chocosphere more than any other company selling chocolate out
there. In addition their Web site is easy to use, reliable, and works with
almost any browser. Their shipping is likewise always trustworthy.

http://www.chefshop.com. Also a good choice for chocolate. I can't attest
to their shipping or Web site navigation, however, because I'm within a
stone's throw of their actual store, so it's far easier for me to go down
in person. I can confirm that I visually saw the cocoa butter in stock.
It's a pretty massive tub, but it's good.

Don't buy cocoa butter intended for soaps, cosmetics, or pharmaceuticals,
not just because it may not be safe, but also because it will taste bad -
this cocoa butter is typically made from the very lowest grade of cocoa
butter available, often what's called "Shell butter" where they extract
what residual cocoa butter they can from the shells from which the nibs
were extracted.

I wouldn't use that one either. The problem isn't necessarily whether or not
is would be safe, but it will be low quality, so it would taste bad.
