Default Request: Name of Italian cookie.

These cookies are oval shaped and off white. They are a bit soft, and
have an interesting taste. Not anisette or butter, those it might have
some of that in them. A relative thought they might be called
saffarotti, or something like that. Any thoughts on what this might
be? And if so, does anyone have a recipe for it?

Thanks in advance.

Thanks. You are correct in that they do look a bit like the one
pictured on the site. However, the ones I am talking about are lighter
and also the ends are more rounded (not as pointy), but I don't think
they have olive oil in them, like the ones in the photo. I also think
the ones in the photo are a bit thicker.

Saffron is a popular ingredient in Italian baked products. Search for
<italian saffron cookies>. There are many types.

You'll find that ladyfingers and langues de chats are pretty much the
same things. Essentially a sponge batter baked as a cookie.

They're most often used in other recipes like tiramisu and various
charlottes.
