These cookies are oval shaped and off white. They are a bit soft, and
have an interesting taste. Not anisette or butter, those it might have some of that in them. A relative thought they might be called saffarotti, or something like that. Any thoughts on what this might be? And if so, does anyone have a recipe for it? Thanks in advance. |

Thanks. You are correct in that they do look a bit like the one
pictured on the site. However, the ones I am talking about are lighter and also the ends are more rounded (not as pointy), but I don't think they have olive oil in them, like the ones in the photo. I also think the ones in the photo are a bit thicker. |

Saffron is a popular ingredient in Italian baked products. Search for <italian saffron cookies>. There are many types. Sheldon |
