Hi all,
Does anyone know if there is any such thing as "caffeine-free" or decaffeinated chocolate? I was looking out for it and haven't found anything in any of the local stores. Given that you get decaf teas, coffees etc, I would assume it's available somewhere but have not had any luck in locating anything yet. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks, Kevin |

To the best of my knowlege, no. I have access to wholesale chocolate catalogs and information from manufacturers and I have not seen any "caffeine-free" mentioned. Well, as someone else said, white chocolate will be caffeine-free. > Given that you get decaf teas, coffees etc, I would assume it's > available somewhere but have not had any luck in locating anything > yet. You do realize that the actual caffeine levels in chocolate are very low compared to coffee and tea. It probably isn't worth the effort to try to decaffeinate it. Bill Ranck Blacksburg, Va. |

Well, there's very little caffeine in chocolate, so there's really no need to do so. Brian Rodenborn |

Too bad about the caffeine-free chocolate. I have an allergy to caffeine - I
get a reaction from just stepping into Starbucks. I could tell if something has caffeine in it by just smelling it. As I said, there's very little in chocolate. Have you discussed this with your allergist? Brian Rodenborn |

And none in the psuedo-chocolate brown crud that Hershey's churns out. And most "food-borne" allergies are psychosomatic. |

Ok, again, they usually don't decaffeinate things with very little caffeine in them. Brian Rodenborn |
