![]() Food in Costa Rica is just AWFUL-I know I used to live there. The national dish is plain white Rice, boiled Cassava and plain boiled Spaghetti with stewed Road Kill on the side. 'Gallo Pinto' or 'Painted Rooster' is Costa Rican Rice and Beans with a Cabbage Salad on the side-eminently forgettable and bad for the digestion if taken more than once a month. Beans and rice, grilled chicken, cole slaw, fried plantains or bananas.
