Default Rock Salt, Large

On a recent Good Eats with Alton Brown, devoted to salt, large softball
sized rocks of salt were used as props. My wife jokingly made yummmmmy
sounds, as she loves salt. I want to get a large rock of salt for Mother's
Day.

Anyone know where to look? I've tried FoodTV and Alton Brown with no luck.

Thanks
Frank

Not knowing where you live Frank, if you can find a farm supply
nearby, a salt lick/block will approximate the salt rock.

Halite is salt as it comes from the mine (rocksalt) unpurified and not
fit for human consumption... you are the buttload.

<rolls eyes>
What-ever... Unprocessed, crystalized halite is also loaded with trace
minerals and IS fit for human consumption!

I purchase "natural raw" granulated halite/salt from the health food
store all the time.

You are ignorant.

Considering I grew up on a farm with over 400 dairy cattle ... I knew that
already.
Read your quote.

LOL! Some of the salt licks they sell are yellow. Do you know if they
have sulphur in them?

There are several types of bricks. Some have sulfur added, some have other
minerals. I recall that salt bricks w/ sulfur were put out for goats and
sheep. (We did not have sheep and only had goats for a few years.)

Thanks. My memory is searching back over 50 years ago when I would visit
