I've never put a berry name and marmalade together in the same phrase before this thread. Is it common? How have I mananged to miss it all these years? This marmalade thread has made me think about making my Pinapple Orange Marmalade with Grand Marnier recipe. I have to go on a long hunt for the hard copy, it was filed in my now dead computer... <sigh> I have to get better about backing up my files on CD from now on. Some things (like recipe folders) shouldn't have to be rebuilt. Practice safe eating. Always use condiments. |

Berries like red currants and gooseberries are extremely tart and high in pectin. They'll react much like citrus in a marmalade recipe. > This marmalade thread has made me think about making my Pinapple > Orange Marmalade with Grand Marnier recipe. Robin Not marmalade, but here's a "salsa" recipe: http://appetizer.allrecipes.com/az/RspbrrySls.asp Raspberry Salsa 2 cups fresh raspberries 1/4 cup chopped sweet onion 3 teaspoons finely chopped jalapeno chile peppers 1 clove minced garlic 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro 1/2 teaspoon white sugar 3 tablespoons fresh lime juice ------------------------------------------------------------------------ DIRECTIONS: 1. In a medium bowl, mix together raspberries, sweet onion, jalapeno chile peppers, garlic, cilantro, white sugar and lime juice. Cover and chill in the refrigerator at least 1 hour before serving. -- -Barb, <http://www.jamlady.eboard.com> Cam Ranh Bay food added 4-8-05. Sam I Am! updated 4-9-05.
