No....those recipes aren't tested. The food manufacturers want peoples'
efforts to fail so they'll never buy those products again. :-)

I have a theory and I'm sticking to it. I believe the OP is a member of a
generation which, for reasons not worth exploring, expects instant
gratification. No trip to the library, probably didn't even go to any of the
biggest cooking web sites like
www.epicurious.com, where a search produced
23 recipes. Getting tidbits of advice here is the equivalent of "giving a
man a fish", as opposed to "teaching him to fish".

So in other words, you have no facts to back up your statements.
Everything you've said is a product of your imagination. Why the
bitter attitude?

Because when I actually meet people like that, I notice it? :-) You've met
them. Notice next time. It's an expected phenomenon (temporarily) with
teenagers, but not adults.

And, you're right. I have no facts to back up my belief in this particular
instance. But, I think my intuition is correct. Oh well.

Damn Wolf.. I must have missed your recipe or food comment? In fact, the
only comments I can recall you ever posting are political or ranting ones?
Please correct this oversight ASAP.

I got *one* tidbit that might help back up your belief. It's not a
fact, but it goes along with your theory.
Has the OP replied to any of the comments that have been made, or has
the OP (webTV, as I recall?) just made the request and then
disappeared?

The OP (@webTV) has only posted a couple of requests for people to send
recipes via email. Never replied to anything.

Bob wins 10 cases of Molson Golden Ale. The OP is either a troll, or a pile
of pond scum glued to the sofa, absorbing what comes his/her/its way, but
contributing nothing.

When I tell you my intuition is right, it's right. No discussion is
necessary.

Ok kids, here's my theory. I've got a laptop but kept my webtv so
here's how I'm thinking why she/he hasn't replied back.

She/he most likely came to this board through the webtv homepage that
has a title on it called "Discuss". She/he most likely clicked on this
board and asked their question from there. If this person comes back
to the board through "Discuss" and looks for an answer to their
question they will have to scroll through page after page after page to
find your replies. I learned l-o-n-g ago to come directly to the
Google board and not have to deal with that hassle of searching on
Webtv.

And as far as those screwy abbreviations that people use whether they
are on a computer or webtv just get my hackles up!! I want to scream
every time I see somebody use 'ur' (your) 'no' (know), etc. No excuse
for it no matter what instrument you use to access the internet.

Hehe. We tend to experiment mostly - or even if we have a book we'll just
use it as an inspiration leading to an experiment. But sometimes we'll use
the actual recipe, either because it sounds too good to change any part of
it or because we can learn something from it.

Mate, you should see the insane amount of cookbooks we own, not even
counting the ones from the library. They don't all fit in their cupboard
anymore. I must admit, we're just totally addicted to foodporn :P

I'll turn you on to something good, then: "In Nonna's Kitchen", by Carol
Field. The author travelled around Italy, meeting grandmothers and begging
for their recipes. Much of it is not the typical Italian fare. Nice book. No
color pictures, so your mind has to be part of the porn-perception process.
:-) The profile of each granny is interesting reading, something you'd
probably enjoy even without the recipes if you found the article in a
newspaper.

Got my copy about 6 years ago. You might need to order it. It's not
stylishly new any more. :-)
