Default Dad Update (OT)

Just talked to my dad. The blood flow down the bypassed artery seems to be
increasing; the doctor will check again in the morning. If it's not
sufficient, they will try to insert a catheter to open things up a bit more
(hope not). So far things are looking good. Dad is tired (naturally) and
in pain (naturally). His incision has broken open 4 times.

The physical therapist tried to get him to walk yesterday and he gave her
piece of his mind, but he did walk a bit today with my mom. He said it's
hard to do with all those tubes they have him hooked to (I'm sure!). He
also said since it's Mother's Day he's sending Mom home to mow the lawn and
wash the car! LOL Yes, apparently he's feeling much better. Thanks
everyone!

I'm sorry for your loss, Elisa. My dad passed away in October, 1990. I'm
still not really over that. I'm an only child, maybe that makes it harder,
I dunno. I do know that the first year of everything is more difficult.

That has to be painful! Do they know why the incision keeps popping?

He sounds like a real smart-ass. My kinda guy. Wish both of your parents
well for me, okay?

They used staples rather than stitches.

OMG! What the hell is it with October? I also lost my dad in October! It
will be 10 years this coming October. Hrm...October is starting to scare me
just a bit!

Jill, glad to hear he's doing well!

I'm very sorry for your loss, too. This October thing is strange.

Not only did I lose my dad in October, but my partner lost his mother in
October.

Strange? I'd say so. It's also my Mom and Dad's birth Month. Come to
think of it, It's also my oldest Son's and my Oldest Niece's Birth Month as
well.

This isn't strange. It's down right FREAKY!
