I am an avid bread baker whose 30 year old KitchenAid K5A is burning
out with stiff bread doughs. I need a second mixer dedicated to bread. Bought a Magic Mill on line, but wet rye dough stayed in one place while the bowl turned, ergo no kneading action. I have seen the KA Pro 600 in stores (575 watts) and King Arthur sells the Viking (10000 watts, but I have no idea what the torque or horsepower is. I even looked at a Hobart N50, which has 1.6 horsepower, but $2000 is ridiculous for a 5 qt. 45 lb mixer. Any one REALLY know the performance of these three? |

Unless you're a cripple no one kneads a machine for needing dough for 1-2 loaves of bread, use the dough hooks at the ends of your arms... kwitcha kvetching. Sheldon |
