Default Query of SoCal Folks re Boysenberries

Anybody in SoCal know where I can get my hands on boysenberries? I've
looked *everywhere*. Might there be some secret hidey hole cache of
boysenberries where I might beg, borrow or steal a few pints? The DH's
favorite pie is boysenberry and I cannot find it for the life of me.

Have you tried Henry's Markets? They are a farmers market but in supermarket
form, mainly in the San Diego area, but I think there are a few in South
Orange County. I'm not sure if you would find boisenberries, but you could
give it a shot.

Depends where you are in Southern California. In the Los Angeles
County area, try Bristol Farms or Gelson's Markets. Check in the
freezer aisle, there's a good chance they'll have frozen
boysenberries. Or try and find some local farmers markets. It's not
boysenberry season (late summer/fall is more the time for those) but
you might be able to locate someone who will have them when the time
is right.

Generic reply to helpful posts above: Knott's Berry Farm appears to be
owned by ConAgra and if their website lets you order berries, they
need a new webmaster 'cause I can't find it.

As to Henry's, Gelson's and Bristol Farms: Looked at 'em all, but as
Cathy suggested, might give them another look in late summer.

Thank you all.

Look in this little market in Costa Mesa, called Growers Direct. It
is on the corner of 17th and Newport Blvd, in Costa Mesa.

This phone number was on ConAgra's website for Knott's Berry Farm customer
service:
877-528-0745

At the very least, maybe they can tell you where they get their
boisenberries. Good luck. You've made me curious to try one. I haven't
been to Knott's Berry Farm in God knows how long, hehe.

You're kidding - My office is about 2 miles away. Will take myself
hence just as soon as an imminent - and nasty - trial is concluded.
Whyinheck did I never notice this place before? It's in front of
Trader Joe's on 17th, where I regularly shop <head slapping!> Thanks,
Christine!

I don't know if they will have boysenberries, but it is worth a look.
I heard about this place on Chowhound, about a year or so ago...
Now when I am in the area, I shop there.

I am trying to remember which corner it is...

Actually when you are heading west on Newport Blvd, it is on the
corner immediately after you cross 17th, in the back of the shopping
area. Easy to miss.
