Default Baked dry Lima Beans

I am planning to use dry lima beans for my baked bean receipe. Any
suggestions. I plan to use my normal recipe, but have a bag of limas, and
thought I would use them instead. I also plan to subsitute brown sugar for
molasses since I do not have any,

Thanks

Tom

Mary/Tom {{{{{{weird}}}}}}: don't do it... limas are great, I love
em... but they make for awful baked beans. Do a lima bean soup
instead.

It hurts me to agree with Sheldon but............that's steppin' a
little too far over the line.

A word of warning -- dry lima beans turn readily to mush!

I don't think I'd use them for regular Boston-style baked
beans, but that's just my taste. Certainly can't be bad,
just be careful not to overcook. And you have to have both
molasses and brown sugar! Go out and buy the molasses.

My great uncle used to make a bbq baked lima bean dish that
I loved. I wish I had his recipe. However I do have another
recipe for bbq limas that's pretty good. I tend to like
the limas with the bbq type of sauce and I always use Great
Northern for Boston-style.
