Fooey, my kitchen faucet died yesterday! Even DH (who is very
handy at this kind of thing) couldn't fix it. And Lowes refused to replace it, although it has a Price-Pfister lifetime warranty. Now we have to go shopping for a new one, which has to wait until tomorrow. Fooey again, I say! I was planning to make some bean & ham soup today, but I refuse to cook when I can't clean, so we're doing Safeway stupidmarket sub sandwiches for dinner... -- Jani in WA ~ mom, vid gamer, novice cook ~ |

Sorry about the troubles, and best of luck to you. BOB |

You don't indicate what problem there was with the faucet and how long you're using it (months,years?)... there's not much that can happen to modern faucets that would cause them not to work at all... the washerless cartridge can begin to drip but you'd have plenty of warning before the drip grew to where it prohibited use. If you call Price-Pfister they will mail you new cartridges, 'O' rings, whatever repair kit is necessary. If there is some other problem such as workmanship, ie. tarnishing, they will work that out too. Had you returned the faucet to Lowes in it's original packaging and in a timely manner, with receipt, and said "it doesn't fit, I don't like it" Lowes would have taken the return... but Lowes does not honor product warranties unless there is a specific agreement with the manufacturer... Home Depot likewise. Had you called Price-Phister's customer service they would have resolved the problem. Btw, next time don't buy Price-Pfister, they are not a high quality product, they're what landlords install for tenants... spend a bit more and instead choose Delta or Koehler. Sheldon |

Price-Pfister is a manufacturer and warrants the products. If you have a problem with their products, contact them and they will make good on it. For questions on your Price Pfister faucet contact customer service at 1-800-PFAUCET. http://www.pricepfister.com/website/...edlifetime.pdf |

That would be *Lifetime*! Would you want to wait (however long) for a warantee to be sorted out by the manufacturer on *your* kitchen faucet? That is precisely why Lowes (and others) are offering to honor the warantee of the products that they sell. What good is this warantee if I'd have to wait even the time to ship the old faucet back and them to ship out the new one (even with no delays) without the use of my kitchen sink? When I was without electricity for a week I was washing stuff on the back patio using the hose. In years gone by, it was buckets of water hauled up from a creek. As long as the water isn't dirty, what difference does it make which faucet it comes from? Granted, I wouldn't want to do this on a daily basis but it's been known to happen ![]() Jill > >> Lowes is a retailer with a liberal return policy (90 days, >>> IIRC). Not what I read he Products and services are the responsibility of the manufacturer or provider of those services and are covered by the warranties offered by such manufacturers or providers. Warranty information regarding any products and services featured on the Lowes.com site are available at no cost to you by e-mailing , by calling Lowe's Customer Service department at 1-800-44-LOWES, or writing Attn: Customer Service, Lowe's Companies, Inc., P.O. Box 1111, North Wilkesboro, North Carolina 28656-0001. > What good is this warantee if I'd have to wait even the time to ship the > old faucet back and them to ship out the new one (even with no delays) > without the use of my kitchen sink? > > BOB It may not have to be shipped back. Did you call the phone number and find out if they would send a part? Neither did the OP. Chances are it can be easily fixed and no replacement is needed. Of course, any time a fixture fails there is inconvenience but it is usually mitigated easily with a little effort and thought. |

If, in fact, Lowes does have a warranty on it. I don't see anything on their web page stating that. |

Thanks to > everyone for their helpful replies, I do appreciate it... Likely not a thing the matter with the faucet, it's the plumbling leading to the faucet that's leaking, so no matter which faucet you install the same problem will exist until the riser tubes are replaced... probably the compression fittings are shot.... get new tubes, the flexible stainless steel jacketed type are best. Return the Peerless faucet, it's real crap... return it *before* you futz with it. Faucets get a lot of use, especially kitchen faucets... get the best. Kohler makes gorgeous faucets and they are truly built to pass on a few generations... the few extra dollars are well worth it to have trouble-free. http://www.us.kohler.com/index.jsp Sheldon |

I've got some big pots that I just can't clean in my crappy kitchen. So I haul them off to the bathtub. Just something to keep in mind.
