Milk gravy with lots of pepper; some people also use this term for sausage
gravy.

Oh, Thanks. (Although I'll probably forget it in the future)

Then the answer would be "white sauce" (or bechamel) because there is
no "city gravy" (unless he wanted a strict play on words).

(OTOH, if he was thinking of the sausage gravy version, then the
country people are on their own :>)
