Food to spare; food to share
The Rev. Ken Horne understands the old adage "waste not, want not." As
executive director of the Society of St. Andrew in Big Island, Va., he
is responsible for the coordination of about 40 million pounds of
salvaged food each year.

Yep, looks like you can even get a big old chunk of Jesus with your
meal....whether you want it or not.

Charities with ULTERIOR MOTIVES are evil.

from the article:
Gleaning, or retrieving extra food to give to the poor, has been practiced
since biblical days, he said, citing Leviticus 19:9-10, which commanded the
Israelites: "When you reap the harvest of your land, do not reap to the very
edges of your field or gather the gleanings of your harvest."

Well you could always sit in the corner and dine on your pride while
your stomach grumbles. People that complain about free services to
help people because it isn't handed to them on their terms are evil
minded.

I am reminded of a woman that was complaining to me of her plight, and one
complaint was that she would not take free food because she had made a vow
never to eat beans and cheese, and that was the best they could do. Whoa!
These are some of my staples of choice!
