Default Lunch today

Left over hamurgers and Josh had hot dogs. We ate the left over slaw. I'm
sick and tired of burgers. Time for a nice, juicy steak. Terry Pulliam got
me started. Gawd, fish sounds good too. I'm a fish freak so a nice chunk of
sword would be lovely. What to do. Maybe a mixed grill type of thingy?

You sound just plain hungry! LOL!

We're having cod for dinner tonight. Tomorrow, we're grilling a small pork
loin roast, weather permitting. That's as far as I can plan ahead. We're
not really good at following schedules, especially the ones we set for
ourselves.

Awwww, **** it all man. Just waddle your fat ass up to the Sizzler,
shove a tablecloth under your collar, and start emptying them steam
tables. Make sure you get a large Diet Coke to go with all that, ya
gotta watch your calories, Lardo....

Tonight it was ham steak...from the cottage roll...fried nice and
crispy.
With scrambled eggs with a velveeta sauce on them. Seems since the
cheesey popcorn thread I have all this velveeta to use up.

Maybe a fish taco sort of deal? I want to try that, but the spousal unit thinks
fish tacos sound too wierd. We had ribeye Sunday with the son#2 before he moved
out for Miami. Still had some steaks left, think I'll sprinkle them with cumin,
chipotle powder & S&P (something a little different than ordinary steak), serve
with spanish rice & fresh salad.

Potluck end of the year lunch -- our principal brought in roast beef;
the cafeteria provided chicken fingers and corn dogs. Teachers
brought in:

Chinese wonder salad (my contribution -- sweet and sour marinated
veggies -- good, not great -- probably won't make again)
broccoli salad
pasta salads
congealed salad
green salad
slaw
potato salad
crudite
macaroni and cheese
green beans
pinto beans
green bean casserole
veggie casserole
creamed corn
red velvet cake -- beautiful and delicious
banana pudding
peach cobbler
chocolate refrigerator dessert
brownies
Italian cream cake -- gorgeous

I finally picked up 3 T-bones. I will grill them. I may do an Italian
marinade and do a side of s'gety. I'm not sure yet. Gawd, steak is
expensive.

So how does one go about properly grilling a pork tenderloin? Grilling
always tends to dry mine out no matter the method. I get much better
results searing in cast iron and finishing off in the oven.

They're great grilled with Yoshida's Sauce on them. Just a few minutes
will do it. Push on the meat as it's cooking to see how soft/firm it is.
(Shaddap, Sheldon) The softer, the more rare the meat will be. The
firmer, the more well-done. Anything beyond medium, and you're on your
own.

I do mine in olive oil or butter. And *rosemary*. I throw it on the grill
and charit. To just medium. Anything else is overdone IMO.

I'm sure the secret is in the turning. I soak pork tenders in brine/marinade or
not, rub it with spices or not, cover with dijon mustard or not. A little olive
oil is nice. Because it is very tender, I do like to get it a little less cool
- leave out on the counter for an hour before grilling. I turn the leetle
bugger every 5 min on a medium hot fire until it registers about 160 from 20 to
30 min depending on the size, then rest it for 5 min at least. Cut in a
slantywise motion to get a bigger slice. Even better the next day on salad or a
hard roll. I like mine medium also. Them overdone fans can have the little end.

I just have a strong opinion that insults should only be hurled in
response to a specific inappropriate post. Some folks who don't like
"someone" make nasty comments without any direct provocation. Hate is
injected into a discussion for no reason. It just bugs me. But I'll try
not to play hall monitor anymore.

You know as well as I do that Sheldon is more guilty of all of this and
more than anyone else on rfc. Why you silently "support" his vile
behavior, yet admonish others for saying anything negative about him at all
is quite beyond me. We clearly have nothing else to talk about.

I've chewed him out for attacking you, too. And I've stated that when he
acts like an asshole, people should let 'er rip. There's no way I support
his actions when he's being a jerk. I just don't think it's necessary to
launch attacks when the guy's not doing anything.

Like I said, I'm not calling anyone on this anymore. If someone's hatred
for Sheldon spills into benign threads, folks can and will form their own
opinions about the poster(s).

>We clearly have nothing else to talk about.

Wayne, your dislike of Sheldon is well known and taken into account. Like
Carol, I'm trying to be nicer. Besides, Sheldon is not quite the *******
as many would paint him. While I do not support his antics on RFC, I have
to say his info has been helpful. What is the point of being rude back to
him?

No sweat, Lynne. This has been an ongoing thing that just happened to come
to a head last night. You didn't do anything wrong.

Thanks for saying I'm nice in your other post. Sometimes a person really
needs to hear that, and I'm in that position right now.

See ya,

I would have to agree. Carol is one of the nicest people on rfc, and has
always been one of my very favorite people. We just happen to disagree
about Sheldon.

I can not justify nor condone his behavior towards you. I know he's treated
you with unabated fervor. Your dislike of him just makes you look bad.
Mabybe I'm being too nice nice. I think you are terrific Wayne. I do not

Ok, but I still feel bad! As far as being nice, you KNOW you are. You're
one of the sweetest people I know, and your biggest fault is being too hard
on yourself! If you're having one of those days, and you need someone to
talk to, though-you know the number, baby! If your timing is good, you may
even help forestall my cleaning out the fridge for a while<EWWW>

Remember when Sheldon posted this simply because a poster's name was
"Manzoor Hassan"?

"I'd have no problem drowning your children while you watched and then
threading a steel rod up your ass till it exited your left ear."

Not a *******, huh? I disagree.

Oh I just look at Sheldon's maledictions as hyperbole...best to chuckle at
it and simply move in.

I don't come to rfc to be treated this way by Sheldon or anyone else, and I
don't appreciate it when it happens. Perhaps some people are "flattered"
by the "attention".

And uncountable other insults and threats which, if said outside of
Usenet, would be grounds for arrest.

Lynne, you had absolutely nothing to do with it. Don't think any more
about it.

Cheers!

Well, ok-should be easy enough to comply, since senility has set in and I
CRS. Really, though, glad you two kissed and made up-I likes ya both!
Don't know you as well as I do Dams, but you seem like a really nice person.

ago, put the first two racks into bleach water to disinfect-and promptly
forgot about them. Did get a lot of other stuff done though, at least!

Then you're doing okay. I can't multitask with house stuff. Some things
seem to take forever.
