Default Best in Show!

I have a feeling we'll be celebrating tonight! John won Best in Show and
was handed a nice check for bringing his work to the show. Oh how nice!

OB Food: He's going to be tired and hungry (!) when he gets back so I'll be
pan-frying some bay scallops. I'm serving this with steamed broccoli and
couscous (to which I'll probably add some of the broccoli, carrot, onion and
sliced garlic). We've got some nice sourdough bread so I may toast a couple
of slices of that, too.

John? Seems like there's been a lot of Johns. Which John will you be
entertaining tonight. Best in show... if he's a stallion I'm sure it
will be nice.

Congrats!!!

It's not a question of where he grips it!
It's a simple question of weight ratios!

A five ounce bird could not carry a one pound coconut.

Are you suggesting coconuts migrate?

How wonderful! I hope that one of these days, one of John's shows
will be in or near New York and we will finally meet. Meanwhile,
congratulations and I hope that your celebration was all you expected
and more. Hugs, M

The Arts in the Park art show. He's an oil painter

We wound up going to dinner rather than me cooking. Bayou Bar & Grill. Sat
out on the patio with the misters going and it didn't feel like it was 95F
in the shade!

http://www.bayoubarandgrill.com/menu.htm

John had the Fettucini Acadian and I had the Cajun Shrimp Jacuzzi. We met
the guy who bakes their baguettes; he and his wife and two daughters were
eating there. Yummy food and definitely something I plan to re-create at
home.

After dinner we went to Circuit Playhouse and saw Edward Albee's latest,
"The Goat". Hiliarious! The funny thing was, we arrived a bit late so the
guy at the box office waited until there was a fade-out with lighting on the
stage and then escorted us like we were Royalty to the empty 2nd row. We
both felt the actors on stage thought we must be someone important... they
were "playing" to us the entire remainder of the performance. If the play
itself wasn't funny (which it was) that was!

Yes, you do! Oh, gosh... and if he hasn't sold the painting of the little
girl in the blue dress I think I know someone who would adore this!

And I'm sure he'd love to hear himself referred to this way... it's so
professional, you know, when you Google and find stuff out about people!
Uh, well yes dear, it's your art work. But also uh, you are, you are known
as a German/Polish Stallion LOL

Congratulations to John! It's always nice to see one's work
recognized by people who know what they're talking about.

Jill, congratulations to John for his achievement. Is there any
possibility that you can post some photos of John's award-winning
work on a web site so we can see it? I am curious.

Not like it's a new thing for him... he's been painting professionally for
35 years. It's not just a job, it's an adventure (heheh). Here's a link to
some of the work I've taking pictures of so far in 2005:

Wow! That's great! I am no art critic, but I really like the painting at
http://image34.webshots.com/35/0/8/6...9ihFQNL_ph.jpg because I
can see some emotion there in the woman's pose. The fuzzy background
adds a bit of mystery to the scene.

The fuzzy background may be my poor photography! But really, that's a
rather surrealistic piece for him. His work is often referred to as modern
impressionism, for lack of a better term.
