Hello All:
I have been on Weight Watchers and lost 10 pounds in 2 months or so. I am wondering if I will gain it back again? Has anyone had a bad experience? I find the diet thingy pretty decent as I can eat everything, and infact, more and even better. Ronnie |

You learn to eat properly , and if you continue to do so , you will not gain back the weight. If you revert to your old habits that caused you to gain the weight in the first place, you , of course will gain it all back. Weight Watchers has no forbidden foods, but you learn what you can eat and what foods are dangerous for you-- that is, foods that you will not eat a reasonable portion of and simply gobble ... I lost weight with WW and kept it all off for more than 10 years, then got careless and found that it crept up on me again, now I am back on Program. Good luck to you, Rosie |

I think that WW is a good program. I lost weight on the program and worked for them, leading two classes a week. However, it is hard to overcome a lifetime of eating habits that made you gain weight. Maintaining your weight involves a complex and permanent change in your lifestyle. Not only do you need to manage what and how much you eat, but your level of activity has to change. Furthermore, over eating is often the result of emotional and psychological factors that people often don't understand or know how to remedy. There also seems to be a genetic component that predisposes some people to weight gain. I don't want to be a pessimist, but most people do gain their weight back no matter what program they follow. The federal government will probably make companies like WW, Jenny Craig, and Nutri System start disclosing statistics about the long-term success of people who use their services. |

As with many issues that involve habits, one's success is highly dependent on one's determination. That determination can be rooted in many factors, one of the most important probably being a view to better health and longer life, not to mention a better appearance and greater energy. Many WW members agree that after you achieve your goal you should still continue to attend meetings for ongoing reinforcement. Best of luck to you! Wayne |

I lost 70 lbs from May to Dec last year. I found that I could keep the
weight off even if I had the occasional piece of pie or pizza but if you go back to your old habits you will gain it all back and then some. I have done it before. Keep counting the points and try to determine how many you can eat and get away with it. Yes. I thought so too about WW.

It will be for life I guess, I love to be on a lower waist ![]() Ronnie "MOM PEAGRAM" > wrote in message >... > alt.support.diet.weigh****chers > > "Ronnie Rao" > wrote in message > om... > > Hello All: > > > > I have been on Weight Watchers and lost 10 pounds in 2 months or so. Yes, its a lot different than what I used to eat earlier, sometimes
doing groceries becomes stressful, but then its worth the *feel light* feeling and getting back into those old pants that I had given up on 2 years ago ![]() And since I eat mostly Indian meals (home cooked), I am developing my own website with sort of low-carb Indian recipes, it should be up in about 15 days, will let you guys know. And I do exercise 3 times a week (30 minute yoga) to keep myself fit. A little discipline is required though... Ronnie ... I just joined WW. How are you doing now? Do you recommend?
Were you able to maintain your reduced weight? And also were you able to bring up the website? Thanks, Rakesh Ronnie Rao wrote: > Yes, its a lot different than what I used to eat earlier, sometimes > doing groceries becomes stressful, but then its worth the *feel light* > feeling and getting back into those old pants that I had given up on 2 > years ago ![]() > > And since I eat mostly Indian meals (home cooked), I am developing my > own website with sort of low-carb Indian recipes, it should be up in > about 15 days, will let you guys know. > > And I do exercise 3 times a week (30 minute yoga) to keep myself fit. > A little discipline is required though... > > Ronnie > > sf > wrote in message >. .. > > On 8 May 2004 17:43:11 -0700, (Ronnie > > Rao) wrote: > > > > > Hello All: > > > > > > I have been on Weight Watchers and lost 10 pounds in 2 months or so. And also were you able >to bring up the website? > Boy do I love this Weight Watchers thing. I just joined last week. I've tried the Atkins and South Beach before this, which are great....for about a week. WW seems to be the most realistic. So far I'm really enjoying filling my pantry with more wholesome foods and cereals. And the planning ahead makes me look for more interesting gourmet recipes, and trying new things. I've almost totally cut out booze, and if I do have a cocktail, I'm good about counting it against my points. I do 3 miles on the treadmill every morning, which gives me 4 extra point to work with. I have a new appreciation of food and of preparing good meals. My goal is 40 pounds, although that would be "high school" weight, so 30 may be more realistic. Hardest thing: my wife is pregnant. ![]() |

A nice mixture of carrots, jicama, snap peas, red and green bell peppers, grape tomatoes etc... in one bag makes a nice snack when on the go. Make several ahead of time so all you have to do is grab a bag on your way out the door and you have a nice 0 point snack. Koko A Yuman being on the net (posting from San Diego) |
