It's been a cool, cloudy spring and early summer here in Seattle. On
July 1 we were sitting in front of the next door neighbor's firepit wearing fleecies. The wild blackberries are finally beginning to ripen, so there is hope. If the weather forecast of warm and sunny days in the next week holds, we'll be awash in them shortly. The big surprise is how good (and relatively cheap) the white peaches in the grocery stores have been. In previous years they've smelled good, but had awful taste and texture. This year's crop have been fragrant, sweet, and drippy good. I had to eat one over the sink yesterday. I have some yellow peaches ripening in a paper bag, and we are awaiting the first one true cobbler of the season. Cindy -- C.J. Fuller Delete the obvious to email me |
