Default Oh man, are these ever GOURMET food!

Walkers pickled onion flavour crisps (spud chips to some of you!). I been
eating these and other makes for years, but these, well, they just got the
best onion vinegar zing there is. Think I'll give up cooking and just eat
these forever.

buttered toast ',;~}~

Trader Joe's has a gourmet line of potato chips - Goat Cheese, Roasted
Garlic (both very good) and a Ginger variety (not tried). My SO is
Canadian - lots of different flavours (her spelling) from Dill Pickle
to Ketsup. My favourite is "All Dressed" - sort of like Italian
dressing.

Sour Cream & Onion "thins" are the way to go! Simply addictive.

We Aussies prefer Vegemite. ;-) [Actually, several years a ago I
organised a blind taste test of Marmite/Vegemite/Promite for our local
weekly booze club. Vegemite was the majority choice; BUT I'm told the
Marmite available here is not a patch on the Pommie stuff. So I
guess, like the current Ashes, the verdict is still up in the air.
However, we can certainly agree on methodology. :-) ]

Cheers, Phred.

Goat cheese? I wish you hadn't said that. I am going to have
to go to TJs soon. Maybe I'll forget this.

BTW, I do have access to the Walker's chips. My daughter
decided she quite liked the Chicken-Flavored ones.

Not sure if they're made by Walker's, but I fancied the Roasted Chicken and
Thyme crisps. Yes, really. Fantastic!

Well, TFFT then! Heheheh...

I ried (imported) Vegemite here - it was good enough, pretty similar to
Marmite IMO, but was paler in colour (it's almost black is Marmite) and a
little milder in taste IIRC.

Yeah, same stuff really, but as I said to Phred, far as I remember VegM is
slightly milder, and paler in colour...

Acquired? Hmmm, I musta acquired it quickly then - been loving it since I
was a tot ',;~}~

Cheers!

Hmmm, sound great!

I kinda like those Kettle Chips myself too - really crunchy, and nice and
thick too - sea salt and cracked pepper ones are darn good.

IMO, they certainly have the best flavourings of the bunch, not to mention
they are always really nicely cooked - never get that burnt taste a lot of
others (like Golden Wonder one - bleuch!) have.

IIRC Walkers make a flavour like that in their Sensations line. They also
make minted lamb ones (with *real* lamb powder in them, heheheh...) that are
really quite nice.

Cheers!

Oh gee, I see a trip to the British store in my future--maybe
after I get my car back from the garage.

No, I am happy to say there is one in the Boston area. I was
a bit disconcerted a while back though. Remember that
?carcinogenic? food additive that was found to be present in
lots of foods that were then removed from your shelves? I
found some of that there--even the relevant lot numbers--and
pointed it out. The owner didn't know and seemed not to care.
Come to think of it, I'd better make sure the stuff I get is
not still from those lots!!!!

Ahh, good stuff then. What sorts of Brit fare do they stock there?
